Hi, I’m Yvette Garcia, a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate in Keller, Texas.

I’m glad you’re here. I know that starting therapy, or even considering it, can feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve been carrying a lot on your own.

I work with individuals, parents, and families who are navigating anxiety, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and the challenges that come with change. I also support children (ages 3+) in expressing emotions, building coping skills, and strengthening connection within their families.

I provide therapy services through Open Doors Life Center in Keller, Texas, offering both in-person and virtual therapy sessions.

My Approach

In our work together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing on you, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical tools to help you move forward with more clarity and confidence in your daily life.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed therapy), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), and family systems therapy. I also integrate additional therapeutic techniques as needed to best support your goals.

Whether I’m working with individuals, parents, or children, I focus on creating a supportive and meaningful therapeutic process that feels relevant to your everyday life.

When working with children, I incorporate play-based therapy approaches to help them express emotions and process experiences in ways that feel natural and developmentally appropriate.

Why I Do This Work

I’m drawn to this work not just professionally, but personally. I’m a mom, wife, sister, friend, and business owner, and I understand what it’s like to juggle multiple roles and responsibilities.

Life transitions, including parenting, postpartum adjustment, and major life changes, can be challenging. Finding balance isn’t always straightforward, and for those who tend to hold themselves to high standards, it can feel even more overwhelming.

Postpartum, in particular, is often an experience that isn’t fully talked about. Many people find themselves thinking, “Why didn’t anyone prepare me for this?”

That’s part of why I do this work. I want to create space for honest conversations about the realities of motherhood, parenting, postpartum mental health, and family transitions. Postpartum doesn’t just affect women, it can impact partners and families as well, and I’m here to support individuals through that experience.

As a mom of two, I’m continuing to learn and grow in my own journey of parenthood. My experiences have deepened my understanding and compassion for the challenges people face, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate your own.
