Yvette Garcia LPC Associate

My Approach

In our work together, we'll explore what's been weighing on you, better understand the experiences that have shaped you, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and build practical tools that help you move toward the life and relationships you want. My goal is for therapy to feel meaningful, supportive, and applicable to your everyday life, not just something that stays in the therapy room.

My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed therapy), Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), Family Systems Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Gottman Method principles when working with couples. I also have specialized training through Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mood Disorders and Advanced Perinatal OCD.

Why I Do This Work

I’m drawn to this work not just professionally, but personally. I’m a mom, wife, sister, friend, and business owner, and I understand what it’s like to juggle multiple roles and responsibilities.

Life transitions, especially parenting and postpartum adjustment, can be challenging. For those who tend to hold themselves to high standards, it can feel even more overwhelming.

Postpartum, in particular, is often an experience that isn’t fully talked about. Many people find themselves thinking, “Why didn’t anyone prepare me for this?”

That’s part of why I do this work. I want to create space for honest conversations about the realities of motherhood, parenting, postpartum mental health, and family transitions. Postpartum doesn’t just affect women; it can impact partners and families as well.

As a mom of two, I’m continuing to learn and grow in my own journey of parenthood. My experiences have deepened my understanding and compassion for the challenges people face, and I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate your own.
